I am Paddy, and I founded The Candle Bottle Bank with my partner, Kirsty.
We created our small business in 2021, after brainstorming ways to upcycle unique drinks bottles, which led to us making them into candles.
Our first idea of upcycling drinks bottles into candles led into another, as we developed a range of candles, remnant of the beautiful North Coast of Northern Ireland.
We began to beachcomb along the beautiful North Coast and gathered a selection of various seashells & sea glass, placed at the bottom of each candle in the gel wax to showcase the vivid colours of the shells and glass. We call these Candles ‘The Causeway Coast Range’ and hope our customers can place them in their homes to always remind them of the North Coast.
We now sell a range of upcycled drinks bottle candles, 'Causeway Coast' range candles, and soy wax melts.
Running our small business brings us a lot of joy, and we recently won Young Trader of the Year for Northern Ireland in 2023.
