STORY
My name is Paddy, and I founded The Candle Bottle Bank with my partner, Kirsty, based in Belfast in Northern Ireland.
We created our small business in 2021, after brainstorming ways to upcycle unique drinks bottles, which led to us making them into candles. Our first idea of upcycling drinks bottles into candles led into another, as we developed a range of candles, inspired, and influenced by the beautiful North Coast of Northern Ireland.
We began to beachcomb along the beautiful North Coast and gathered a selection of various seashells and sea glass, placed at the bottom of each candle in the gel wax to showcase the vivid colours of the shells and glass. We call these Candles ‘The Causeway Coast Range’ and hope our customers can place them in their homes to always remind them of the North Coast.
Both of us were lucky enough to have spent a lot of time in our childhood in the North Coast, which is where our love for the North Coast came from, and we use any excuse to go up there now, especially when it involves going to the beach and shell collecting!
We now sell a range of upcycled drinks bottle candles, "Causeway Coast" range candles, soy wax melts and reed diffusers. Each candle and wax-melt are handcrafted and hand-poured by us, using high quality soy wax and fragrance oils. Running our small business brings us a lot of joy, and we are very excited to see what the future holds.

Yes. Our candles are handmade with care, from preparing and reusing containers to pouring the wax and finishing each candle. We love the small differences that come with creating products by hand rather than mass producing them.

Absolutely! Our custom candle service allows you to give a special bottle or jar a new purpose. Whether it's from a favourite drink, a celebration or simply a bottle you love, we can transform it into a unique handmade candle.
